About the Youth Broadcasting Program
The Youth Broadcasting Program is an extension of our school-based Project Y Program and provides an ongoing opportunity for students 12 – 17 years to continue to engage with 4RFM on a volunteer basis.
The Youth Broadcasting Program is primarily a music-based program with students regularly programming and presenting their music programs LIVE on air as well as producing quality audio for community ads & station promotion (stings), sourcing & editing music and in 2017 we will be introducing Magazine Writing & Research, Website design & Social Media Management components to the program.
Due to changes in staffing at the Station, there is only going to be ONE group of six students able to participate at this stage. All interested & eligible* students, should apply on the form below by Monday January 23 to be considered for Term One.
- Must have previously completed the school-based Project Y Program
- Must be available on designated day/time to attend at least 90%* of sessions each term (*excludes sick days & holidays)
- Must be currently attending school (if not attending school – check out our Volunteer Program instead!)
When: Wednesdays (during school term)
Time: 4 – 6pm
What It Costs: $40 per student per term
We are looking for students who are genuinely interested & committed to fully participating in 4RFM Community Radio Station as presenters/programmers first and foremost. As spots are limited this year, please carefully consider your personal level of commitment and interest before applying.
